Gaston Jean-Michel, was born on December 18, 1911 in Fort-de-France Martinique was a Catholic prelate, a great figure of Catholicism in Martinique. He is the founder of the only Catholic radio Island, Radio St. Louis and Action Catholique Agricole, a organism to help rural areas.
Appointed vicar in 1936, he became a parish priest the following year. 30 years later, he was director of works and responsible for radio and television broadcasts for the public service.
Priest in rural areas, he founded Action Catholique Agricole in the late 1930s by creating the Jeunesse Agricole Catholique (Catholic Agricultural Youth) which was later one of components Mouvement Rural de Jeunesse Chrétienne (M.R.J.C.), (Rural Christian Youth Movement) .
Committed to spreading the Gospel, he established the Catholic radio station Radio St. Louis name of the Cathedral of Fort-de-France in February 1982 and has been its influence for more than 33 years.
