Mount Pelee eruption

The eruption of Mount Pelee is the biggest natural disaster in the history of Martinique.

Indeed, on May 8, 1902, following the eruption of Mount Pelée, 32,000 people lost their lives. The city of Saint-Pierre was entirely destroyed and lost its status as the capital city.
