Îlet du Galion is located in the pointe of Caravelle Peninsula Pointe. It is of conical shape. It is completely wooded. It comes from a lava flow. It corresponded to the implementation period of the volcanic chain Vauclin/Pitault.
Îlet du Galion is uninhabited. It belongs administratively to the town of Trinité.
It has a gray sand beach which opens on the Rivière du Galion (Galion river).
The landing on the beach of the islet is very difficult because of the wind and waves. The space between the Pointe Brunet of the Caravelle peninsula and the islet is dotted with several coral plates separated from each other.
Companies offer tours near the islet.
