Ilet Tartane

Îlet Tartane is an uninhabited islet in the commune of Trinité. It lies to the west of the Presqu'île de la Caravelle, opposite Tartane.

It is an islet of volcanic origin.

It can be visited as part of a tour of the Tartane coast. It has a sandbar where visitors can take a dip in the sea, as well as making it easier for boats to dock. A shelter is also available.

The islet is visited seasonally. It is particularly popular during the high tourist season, the Easter and Whitsun vacations.

Like all the other islets we've visited, human activity (camping, barbecues, waste management) is threatening the islet's ecosystem.

It is therefore inadvisable to leave garbage on the ground or in nature, by throwing it into a bag to be disposed of on land.
