Centre de découverte des Sciences et de la Terre

The Centre de Découverte des Sciences et de la Terre (Discovery Center of Earth Sciences) of the General Council of Martinique was inaugurated in 2004. It is an earthquake resistant building that wants to be a great place for earth sciences (geology, volcanology, petrography, soil) and show how their knowledge can protect people from natural disasters.

Symbolically situated at the foot of Mount Pelee, the C.D.S.T. is a tool for the scientific influence of the island, especially North of the island. The visit is made by means of audio guides. Exhibitions are held frequently.

From Fort de France, take the direction of Saint-Pierre. On leaving Saint-Pierre towards the Prêcheur, an outlet on the right takes you to the CDST.

The signage is knowledgeable and you are well guided in the city of Saint-Pierre.
