Epiphany is a Christian festival celebrating the birth of the Messiah, who was visited by the Magi shortly after his birth. In France, it is generally celebrated on the Sunday following New Year's Day, or on January 6. It is also called Three Kings Day in some countries.
It is not a public holiday.
The festivities are limited to a moment with family and friends, where a galette des Rois is shared with a glass of cider.
