Music Festival

The Music Festival (Fête de la Musique in French), celebrated in over 100 countries around the world, coincides with the first day of summer in the northern hemisphere. It was launched by American musician Joel Cohen in 1976, then institutionalized by Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture in France.

Since then, Martinique has also been commemorating music on this date, with events planned in most of the island's communes.
