The crowds lining the sidewalks support both local runners and those from other countries in their efforts.

The 37th edition of the Fort-de-France International Half Marathon in Martinique will take place on Sunday November 26, 2023, with the start on the seafront at 6:00 am sharp.

Three races are scheduled around this event:

  • the jou ouvè at 5:30 a.m.
  • the half-marathon at 6h00
  • the mixed half relay at 6:03 a.m.

First held in 1985, the Martinique Half Marathon has become a fixture both locally and internationally, to the extent that it now features on all international "long-distance race" calendars. Today, it is seen as a tourist product, and tours of the island are organized around the event.

Popular with amateur and professional sportsmen and women alike, edition 37 will feature a host of renowned international champions from Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
