Unlike other distilleries in Martinique who have more than a century of history, Neisson distillery was founded in the 20th century. In 1932, Adrien and Jean Neisson brothers create Habitation Neisson on the lands of Thieubert, a former Habitation of common Carbet. Indeed, it is his own hands Adrian built a small distillery, thereby recovering a boiler built in 1830 and bringing back from France new mills.
Small in size, the distillery Neisson stands already at the time of its competitors by the quality of the rum that they distributes locally. With the help of his brother, John Neisson, chemical engineer, they began developing the square bottle called "Zépol Karé" by establishing a distribution network in Paris.
Since its inception in 1932, the distillery Neisson is one of the last family distilleries in Martinique has preserved in the tradition of Martinique, the components of a high quality rum.
The distillery is now run by the daughter and grandson of Hildevert Pamphille Neisson, founder of the distillery.
